Hydrogen peroxide decomposition
- Find the rate at which various compounds decompose H2O2. Record any patterns. Salts available: NaCl, NaBr, KCl (salt substitute), KI (iodine supplement), KOH (soap making), NaOH (soap making), LiOH (Li + H2O), Li2SO4 (LiOH + metal sulfate, filter and evaporate filtrate), CaCl2 (ice melt), MgSO4 (epsom salts), MgO (strong heating of MgSO4), Cr2O3 (chrome green pigment), CrCl3 (Cr2O3 in HCl, then evaporate), MnCl2 (MnO2 in HCl, filter and evaporate), FeCl2 (Fe in HCl, evaporate), CoCl2 (Drierite in water, evaporate), CuCl2 (Cu in H2O2 + HCl, evaporate), ZnSO4 (Zn in CuSO4, filter and evaporate), CdCl2 (Cd from NiCd button cell in HCl, evaporate), AlCl3 (Al in HCl, evaporate), etc. Be sure to research these reactions and have suitable labelled containers before producing these chemicals. Make sure you use an equal weight of each chemical. Process: Almost fill a test tube with H2O2. Mark the 1 mL line. Add chemical. Cork. Invert the tube. Wait until O2 gas reaches line. Record time.

Driest Part of the House
- Is humidity constant for all parts of a house? Pour water into several cups that are the same size. Draw a line to show the water level. Measure how the water level changes after 1 day, 2 days, 3 days, etc. Also, is there a big difference between evaporation during the day and evaporation at night?
