Several interesting ones
- Reaction of lithium, sodium, then potassium with water. Burning of ammonium dichromate. Ignition of aluminium powder and iodine with a few drops of water. Melting of gallium spoon. Jelly bear in potassium chlorate, molten. Aluminium foil and hydrochloric acid.
- —Lanthanum
Favorite Reactions
- My favorite has to be the "Old Nassau". :) I'm a chemistry teacher and do some really neat demos with the kids but for SOME reason they always want to see that one.

Sulfuric Acid and Sugar
- I have lots of favorites, but one of the best has to be the reaction between sulfuric acid and sugar, producing a growing column of black carbon and a smell somewhat of sulfuric acid and somewhat of caramel.
