What I Did:
Catalytic Decomposition of Hydrogen Peroxide
How I Did It:
I filled up a test tube with hydrogen peroxide, added a catalyst, corked it with a very small-holed cork, and placed it in a water bath. I added 1/10 g. of each catalyst. There were about 30 catalysts. Because the test tube had measurement markings on its side, I measured the amount of oxygen produced in a certain amount of time.
- Do not bump the test tube. This produces extra oxygen which messes up data.
