What I Did:
I poisoned myself with iodine by electrolysis of a tincture of iodine solution.
How I Did It:
I poured tincture of iodine into a cup and attached twelve volts to two electrodes which were placed in the cup. Iodine started forming around the anode. There was much fumes coming from the cup of iodine and alcohol. I wondered why my mind was so foggy and my sense of smell was dulled until I realized that I was poisoning myself with iodine. Later, I placed the cup outside and finished the electrolysis.
Lessons Learned
- Do not perform electrolysis in an unventilated room. Electrolysis of salt solution can fill up a room with toxic gases.
