The Bottom Line

The Geyser Tube is a cool little device, especially if you want to avoid getting wet when you set off your Mentos and diet soda geyser or if you are rigging a series of geysers to erupt all at once. The kit is inexpensive, plus a nice description of the science involved in the Mentos and diet soda geyser is provided on the back of the packaging.

  • Permits you to set off a Mentos and diet soda geyser without getting wet.
  • The Geyser Tube is re-usable.
  • The kit is inexpensive.
  • The science behind the geyser is explained clearly on the packaging.
  • Depending where you live, Mentos may be hard to find, so it's just as easy to order the kit.

Cons

  • You still have to get soda or diet soda.
  • It's a little gimmicky, since you can make the geyser using a rolled piece of paper (free).

Description

  • The kit includes everything you need to make a Mentos and diet soda geyser except for the diet soda.
  • The Mentos and diet soda Geyser Tube is intended for kids ages 8 and up.
  • The Geyser Tube has a plastic trigger pin attached to a string so you can activate the geyser from a safe distance.
  • The Mentos and diet soda Geyser Tube can be rinsed out and used again and again.
  • You could easily experiment with other types of candies or other drinks. The Geyser Tube will fit on most standard bottles.

Guide Review - Steve Spangler Science - Mentos Geyser Tube

Steve Spangler Science makes a nifty Geyser Tube so you can make a Mentos and diet soda geyser without getting wet (if you choose). The kit includes everything you need, except the diet soda, to make a 25 foot soda geyser.
