Mendeleev's Periodic Table

Mendeleev is credited with creating the first real periodic table of the elements.
Original Russian Version Mendeleev is credited with creating the first real periodic table of the elements, where trends (periodicity) could be seen when the elements were ordered according to atomic weight. See the ? and blank spaces? Those are where elements were predicted.

Dmitri Mendeleev first published a periodic table on March 1, 1869. His table wasn't the first, but it became widely recognized because he left gaps, using predictions made by the table's organization, to identify where the missing elements should be found. He also grouped elements according to their properties, not necessarily their atomic weights.

Mendeleev's Periodic Table

Dmitri Mendeleev invented a periodic table which ordered elements according to atomic weight.
English Translation Dmitri Mendeleev (Mendeleyev), a Russian chemist, was the first scientist to make a periodic table similar to the one we use today. Mendeleev noticed the elements exhibited periodic properties when they were arranged in order of increasing atomic weight. from 1st English ed. of Mendeleev's Principles of Chemistry (1891, from the Russian 5th ed.)

Chancourtois Vis Tellurique

de Chancourtois devised the first periodic table of the elements based on the increasing atomic weight of the elements. de Chancourtois' periodic table was called the vis tellurique, since the element tellurium was in the middle of the table. Alexandre-Emile Béguyer de Chancourtois

Helix Chemica

The Helix Chemical or Periodic Spiral is another type of periodic table of the elements.
Periodic Spiral The Helix Chemica or Periodic Spiral is an alternative way to represent the chemical and physical properties of the elements. E.C.Pozzi in 1937, in Hackh`s Chemical Dictionary, 3rd Edition, 1944

Hexagons at the top of the table indicate element abundance. Elements located in the upper half of the diagram are characterized by low density (below 4.0), simple spectra, strong emf, and tend to have a single valence. Elements in the lower half of the diagram have high density (above 4.0), complex spectra, weak emf, and usually multiple valences. Most of these elements are amphoteric and may gain or lose electrons. Elements in the upper left of the chart have a negative charge and form acids. The upper center elements have complete outer electron shells and are inert. Elements in the upper right carry a positive charge and form bases.

Dalton's Element Notes

John Dalton used a system of partially-filled circles to symbolize the chemical elements. The name for nitrogen, azote, remains the name for this element in French. from John Dalton's notes (1803)

Circular Periodic Table

Mohammed Abubakr's circular periodic table is one way to present the chemical elements.

Alexander Arrangement of the Elements

The Alexander arrangement of the elements is a three-dimensional periodic table.
Three-Dimensional Periodic Table The Alexander arrangement of the elements is a three-dimensional periodic table. Roy Alexander

The Alexander Arrangement is a three-dimensional table that is intended to clarify trends and relationships between the elements.
