This is a collection of printable periodic tables. These tables are optimized to print on standard 8-1/2 inches by 11 inches printer paper. Be sure to do a print preview, set the print mode to "landscape" mode, and select "fit to page."

These periodic tables were created in 2015. Since then new elements have been discovered. Specifically, nihonium (element 113), moscovium (element 115), tennessine (element 117), and oganesson (element 118) were added since 2015. Also, the IUPAC has adjusted the atomic masses for certain other elements. The most recent versions of these periodic tables are available at Science Notes. While the 2015 editions of the periodic table remain popular, it's nice to have the latest accurate information for all 118 elements! This is the 2019 edition of the printable periodic table. It includes nihonium, moscovium, tennessine, and oganesson and has the revised atomic masses (in the few cases where changes were made).

Be advised: The IUPAC has moved away from single atomic mass values for elements. Their newer tables include a range of values, to better reflect the uneven distribution of isotopes in the Earth's crust. While these ranges might be more accurate, they are basically useless for chemistry calculations, where you need just one number! The atomic mass values on this table are the latest single values agreed upon by the IUPAC or predicted by scientists. If you are working with a single isotope or known mixture of isotopes, you should always use that value for your calculation and not the average value for the planet.

This printable periodic table is suitable for those without access to a color printer. The table has all the basic information found on a typical periodic table. Each element's tile contains the atomic number, symbol, name, and atomic mass. The IUPAC atomic mass values are given.

This periodic table is a little different. The information is the same, but the colors are reversed. White text on black tiles looks a little like a photo negative of a periodic table. Mix it up a little!

Color Printable Periodic Table with Electron Shells - 2015

This color periodic table has the usual atomic number, element symbol, element name, and atomic mass information. It also has the number of electrons in each electron shell. As an added bonus, there is a handy sample "gold" tile right in the middle to show you where to find all the element data.

The colors range across the table following the Roy G. Biv rainbow spectrum. Roy G. Biv is shorthand notation for the colors of the visible spectrum of light: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. Each color represents a different element group or family. Please note, the other way to recognize element groups is simply according to their column on the periodic table. Check with your instructor to determine which method is most appropriate for your needs.

Don't feel like memorizing all of the electron shell configurations? Want to check your work? This is a black and white version of the Periodic Table with Electron Shells for those without access to a color printer. Or, if you have a color printer, you still may prefer to print in black and white to color in cells yourself or because the simple scheme is easier to read.

Each element is represented by its atomic number, symbol, name, atomic weight and number of electrons in each shell.

Negative Printable Periodic Table with Shells - 2015

White text on black tiles gives that negative look to this version of the Printable Periodic Table with Shells.

It is surprisingly easy to read even though it is a little hard on your black ink cartridge or toner. Maybe you should print this one at work.

Each element tile contains the element's atomic number, symbol, name, atomic weight and number of electrons in each shell.

Obviously, there are many more types of tables that can be presented. These include element abundances in the Earth's crust or seawater, lists of radioactive elements, lists of oxidation states, electronegativity, and more. Contact Todd or me (Anne Helmenstine) if you have specific needs!
