Igor-ade is a concoction of gelatin, orange soda and vanilla ice cream. It looks a little disgusting, but tastes like a fruity ice cream float.
Anne Helmenstine
Mix up some Igor-ade as a drink for a Halloween party or Mad Scientist Party.
- In a saucepan, mix 1-1/2 cups of apple juice and a 3-oz package of lime-flavored gelatin.
- Cook and stir the mixture over low heat until the gelatin dissolves.
- Remove the saucepan from heat. Stir in another 1-1/2 cups of apple juice.
- Refrigerate the gelatin mixture about 2 hours or until it is thickened.
- Divide the mixture evenly among 6 glasses.
- Slowly pour orange-flavored drink down the side of each glass. The orange drink will float on the green gelatin mixture.
- If you use orange soda, you can add ice cream and make a foamy, fizzy Igor-float!
- You can top the drink with whipped cream or add a glowstick as a decoration (not edible). You can garnish the drink with gummy worms or other creatures, too.
