Nicolas-Louis Vauquelin was a French chemist.

Death:

November 14, 1829 in Saint-André-d’Hébertot, France

Claim to Fame:

Vauquelin was a French chemist who discovered the elements beryllium and chromium. He isolated the first amino acid, asparagine. He also discovered pectin, usually used in jams and jellies.
