There are 14 distinct Bravais crystal lattices. The Bravais lattices are sometimes called space lattices. The lattices can be used to describe the geometrical symmetry of a crystal. All crystals can be described by one of these arrangements.
- Triclinic Bravais Crystal LatticeA triclinic crystal is described by vectors of unequal length and not mutually orthogonal.
- Simple Monoclinic Bravais Crystal LatticeSimple Monoclinic Bravais Crystal Lattice
- Base Centered Monoclinic Bravais Crystal LatticeBase Centered Monoclinic Bravais Crystal Lattice
- Simple Orthorhombic Bravais Crystal LatticeOrthorhomic crystals are a rectangular prism with a rectangular base.
- Base-Centered Orthorhombic Bravais Crystal LatticeOrthorhomic crystals are a rectangular prism with a rectangular base.
- Body-Centered Orthorhombic Bravais Crystal LatticeOrthorhomic crystals are a rectangular prism with a rectangular base.
- Face-Centered Orthorhombic Bravais Crystal LatticeOrthorhomic crystals are a rectangular prism with a rectangular base.
- Hexagonal Bravais Crystal LatticeA hexagonal lattice has the same symmetry as a right prism with a hexagonal base.
- Rhombohedral or Trigonal Bravais Crystal LatticeThe rhombohedral crystal is described by vectors of equal length which are not mutually orthogonal.
- Simple Tetragonal Bravais Crystal LatticeTetragonal crystal lattices result from stretching a cubic lattice along one lattice vectors.
- Body-Centered Tetragonal Bravais Crystal LatticeTetragonal crystal lattices are made by stretching a cubic lattice along one of its lattice vectors.
- Simple Cubic or Isometric Bravais Crystal LatticeIn the cubic system, the unit cell is in the shape of a cube.
