I don't want to stereotype science-types, but there are some gifts that are more likely to be appealing to chemists, physicists, and engineers than to non-science types. Here's a look at some of this year's gifts. The commentary is the recommendation as given by my husband (physics and IT person). I've added my own comments as well.
1. Bluetooth Laser Virtual Keyboard
I'd want this mainly for the neato factor. Also, it would be handy in some situations, like cell texting since it is bluetooth.
2. Noise Canceling Headphones
His reason for wanting these? He sheepishly mutters 'wife and kids'. I laughed, but I have to agree these are an excellent gift idea. Whether you need peace and quiet to work or just want to get away from it all without actually going anywhere, high-quality noice-canceling headphones can help.
4. Mini Fridge-Warmer
It's big. It locks. It's quiet. It has adapters for both home and car. It heats or cools food. It's silver and has pretty LED lights.
5. Laboratory Beaker Mug
You know you'd like to brew coffee in the lab, yet it's a little on the unsafe side. At least your coffee can look like it came fresh from the lab. The mug holds 400 ml of your favorite beverage.
