pH is a measure of the hydrogen ion (H+) concentration in an aqueous solution. Understanding pH can help you predict the properties of a solution, including the reactions it will complete. A pH of 7 is considered neutral pH. Lower pH values indication acidic solutions while higher pH values are assigned to alkaline or basic solutions.
