Okay, everyone knows a smoke detector can't warn you of a fire if the battery has been taken out. Still, a lot of people purposely disable their smoke detectors because the alarm sounds for cooking, washing clothes, bathing, and other non-emergencies. Check the status of your alarm and then take the poll. Have you ever tried one of the detectors with temporary mute buttons or other mechanisms to discourage removing the batteries? If so, share your opinion on the forum!
