Glow in the Dark Pumpkin (Anne Helmenstine)

This spooky Halloween jack-o-lantern glows in the dark. You can make a normal pumpkin glow (like I have here) or you can apply the same effect to a carved jack-o-lantern or an artificial pumpkin. Here's what you do.

Cool! I think. Do I really want a pumpkin that can glow until the end of time?

Nancy… definitely! How else are you going to protect your home from the evil spirits lurking about? Garlic only repels vampires, after all.

Glowing very bright on photo. It’s good fun for kids to make different items glowing.

My grandchildren would love this, and maybe I could work in a little chemistry lesson along with the fun!

Eeriie effect. You could also paint just eyes and mouth to glow in the dark.
