The American Chemical Society (ACS), the world's largest scientific community, inducted new "Heroes of Chemistry" into the scientific Hall of Fame. The Heroes of Chemistry program honors researchers who led to the development of chemistry and chemical engineering products or inventions that benefit mankind.
This year the ACS recognizes scientists from Merck for developing the chronic hepatitis C drug Victrelis (boceprevir), from Novartis for developing the leukemia drug Tasigna (nilotinib), and from Arkema for developing technology for atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition. The ceremony to honor the scientists was held at the 244th ACS National Meeting & Exposition. Learn more at All Good Read.
