Wordless Wednesday - Glowing Emperor Scorpion

This scorpion glows bright blue-green under a black light. (Anne Helmenstine)

How many things can you name that glow or fluoresce under a black light? One of them is this Emperor Scorpion. Here's a list of other items that glow when exposed to ultraviolet light. Can you find more?

Very unique find this week! I had no idea that sea creatures would glow like that. So did you dive to find this little creature or is he in a tank?

That is my daughter’s pet, which is in a 10-gallon aquarium with a layer of sand and bark. This one was captive-bred, but the species comes from the forests of Africa.
