Young children can be taught to dial longer telephone numbers (certainly by age 4). Mr. Yuk’s number should be right up there with 911 on every refrigerator.
Wow, I had no idea there were 80 different hazard symbols! How long has Mr. Yuk been around, do you know? I don’t think he existed when I was a kid.

Amy, you’re right… Mr. Yuk is fairly new. He was designed in 1971 to be the mascot for the poison control center at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. The design was created by Wendy (Courtney) Brown, who was a grade school student at that time.
I remember when Mr. Yuk come out — it seemed to make a real difference to helping little ones understand “don’t touch: danger”.
