Learn the Amino Acids

Monday February 26, 2007
Although there are only 20 amino acids, they are used to build all the proteins in your body. Triplets of DNA base pairs code for individual amino acids, so in a way, inheritance is concerned with your amino acids. It's a good idea to commit the names, abbreviations, and structures of the amino acids to memory. It's also helpful to try to remember which side chains are nonpolar, polar and uncharged, or polar and charged.
