Firework Colors

Friday July 1, 2005
One nice aspect of living in an area surrounded by water is I can pretty much set off fireworks with impunity. No grass fires. No burning trees. Really not anything a garden hose can't contain. If you are similarly fortunate and live in a state that allows personal fireworks, you've probably started to see/hear 4th of July fireworks and sparklers. Of course, the main event is still a few days off. That gives you time to brush up on the chemistry of the colors found in fireworks. You even have time to make your own sparklers before the holiday officially begins.
