Chemistry Lab Safety Rules

Tuesday February 1, 2005
Most instructors remember to tell students not to pipette by mouth, but there are lots of other safety rules you should follow in the chemistry lab. I think the worst lab safety experience I had involved a student who didn't realize you were supposed to turn off the gas after using a bunsen burner. It seems like a pretty obvious mistake to avoid, but you can never be too careful. (No, he didn't blow up the lab.)
