Some Biochem Basics

It's important to refer to texts for certain facts and figures, but some of the information encountered in organic chemistry and biochemistry is worth memorizing:

• Functional Groups - need-to-know information that you will encounter on a regular basis
• Amino Acids - know the names and structures
• Alkane Nomenclature - the alkane rules can be applied to alkenes, alkynes, and other organics.
