BBC News reports on an environmentally-friendly mode of human burial. Basically, the corpse is freeze-dried in liquid nitrogen and then sound waves are used to shatter the body into a powder. The supposedly odorless powder is encased in a corn starch 'coffin' for shallow burial. The coffin and its contents become compost and return to the ecological cycle within six months. Personally, think this is pretty cool - kinda 'Star Trek'. Interested in learning more? Here's the link to Promessa, the Swedish company which developed and offers ecological burial.
