Baking soda and baking powder are two common cooking ingredients. Is there a difference between the two products? Can you substitute them in recipes? Can you use one to make the other? Find the answers...

Hi. recipe calls for 1 TB baking powder and 1 1/2 tsp of baking soda. I HAVE BAKING SODA but not baking powder. Can I omit the baking powder? Will the pumpkin loafs rise?
