Worked Calorimetry Problems

Wednesday October 29, 2003
Here's a worked example of a coffee cup calorimeter problem and a bomb calorimeter problem. In addition to calculating heat flow, you can get a good idea of the enthalpy change of a chemical reaction using a coffee cup calorimeter. The pressure within a bomb calorimeter often changes, so you can calculate heat flow, but usually not enthalpy change.
