Lava Lamp Celebrates 40th Anniversary

Sunday October 19, 2003
Lava lamps are so cool (even though they are hot to the touch)! This is the 40th anniversary of the lava lamp, which has gone by the names of Astro Lamp and Lava Lite. Since their invention in 1963, the motion lamps have never gone out of production in either Britain or the United States. Although many people associate lava lamps with the 60s and 70s, the highest sales were actually in the 90s. Great ideas never go out of style! Read the MSN article to learn more about this shagadelic gadget.
